Your camera or microphone check does not pass

The camera and microphone rows appear on Your setup only when the test uses them. They pass when the browser shows a live picture and hears you.

Get it passing

  1. Choose Allow camera and microphone when the browser asks. If you blocked it, click the camera icon at the left of the address bar, remove the block and press Check again.
  2. Close apps that use the camera or microphone, such as Zoom, Teams or Meet. The page says when another app is using it.
  3. On a Mac, also allow your browser in System Settings, Privacy and Security, under Camera and Microphone.
  4. If the picture is dark, uncover the lens or turn on a light.
  5. Say something or clap, so the microphone row turns to We can hear you.
  6. When every row passes, tick the box that says you have read the rules and choose Start the test.
