A student says they cannot open the test
Work down this list. One of these explains nearly every student who cannot get in.
Check, in order
- Is it set? A draft is invisible to students. Open the test's Setup tab: students see nothing until you press Set test.
- Is the window open? Under Who and when, check Opens and Last start (India time). After the last start nobody can start the test. Move the last start in Setup, or use Let them sit it on the Results tab for one student.
- Is the student's class on the test? Under Who and when, a class with no students shows No students yet. Students join a class from their class link.
- Invited list: did the email arrive? In Setup, choose Send again next to the address.
- Where they sit it. Phones cannot sit tests. If the test is Desktop app only, the student needs the Assessly desktop app.
- Their browser: Chrome, Edge or Firefox 110 or newer, or Safari 15 or newer. Links opened inside another app are blocked.
- Another device holds the test: on the Live tab, choose Allow another device.
The student-side view of the same problem is in You cannot open a test.
