Get students onto Assessly
Students join from a class link when they are on the class list. You can also create their accounts from a CSV. Staff join by email invitation.
Three routes
- Class list and link: open Classes, choose the class and choose Add students. Paste the roster of university roll numbers, then share the class link in the group your batch reads. Students on the roster sign themselves up. There is no open joining.
- CSV import: on Students, use the import that creates accounts from a CSV. The file needs full_name, username, email and usn, and course_code if you want them put straight into a class. A preview shows each row before anything is created.
- Staff: on Access, choose Invite people. Each person gets an email with a join link and sets their own password.
If an invitation goes astray, the person can choose Send me a fresh link on the invitation page.
